02/17/2019 (India) - Emerging local on Sunday, 17 February, reports that seven people have been killed and a further 12 wounded in a road traffic incident in Siwan district, Bihar state. Reports indicate a collision occurred between a truck and a pickup vehicle, although the cause is yet to be confirmed. Emergency services are responding to the incident. The injured have been reportedly transferred to local hospitals.

Members intending to conduct overland travel in India are advised to exercise a high degree of caution and carefully plan any journeys outside of major population centres. Members should avoid self-driving in the country if unfamiliar with the local driving environment. Those conducting overland travel should use reputable transport providers with professional drivers and well-maintained vehicles.
