02/17/2019 (Montenegro) - According to regional media sources on Sunday, 17 February, thousands of people gathered on the streets of Podgorica on the night of Saturday, 16 February, to voice their demands for President Milo Djukanovic to resign. The calls for resignation come as the president is accused of corruption and 'improper financial dealings.' However, since the accusations, authorities have shifted their focus to former banker Disko Knezevic, who has now fled the country as a result.

Members in Podgorica are advised to avoid the vicinity of the protests due to the risk of incidental violence, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed security response. Follow local media outlets for further updates on these protests and any associated disruption.
