02/17/2019 (India) - According to media sources on Sunday, 17 February, members of Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha (ABKS) have scheduled a rally in order to protest over the government's apparent disregard towards delivering the demands of farmers, which include pensions and transferring rights of forest lands to the tribes. The rally will commence on Wednesday, 20 February, and will continue through until Wednesday, 27 February, taking place in and around Mumbai, Maharashtra state. The march is due to begin in Nashik city, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, 20 February, and proceed along National Highway (NH)-160 before reaching Mumbai on Wednesday, 27 February. Over 50,000 farmers are expected to participate in the rally. While the protest is expected to pass off peacefully, members should avoid protest areas as a precaution and to minimise inconvenience.

Members are advised to be aware of strike and protest related activity and avoid large crowds at all times. Further, members in-country are advised to remain highly vigilant and report all types of suspicious activity to the police. Keep apprised of further developments by closely monitoring local sources.
