02/17/2019 (Yemen) - According to regional media and social media sources on Sunday, 17 February, thousands have gathered in Sanaa, in order to demonstrate against Israeli occupation of Palestine and what media sources are referring to as 'defending the Palestinian cause'. A leader of the Ansar Allah revolution movement, al-Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, allegedly called for the protests, going under the title 'march of the innocents'. Specific information regarding the exact locations of the demonstrations are minimal, however, social media accounts suggest large crowds are currently gathered in the City Square of Sanaa. There are also some scattered reports of protests in Hodeidah, but this is currently unconfirmed.

Due to the ongoing conflict and extreme risk environment, members should reconsider all non-essential travel to Yemen at this time. Those in Yemen should limit non-essential movement outside of secure compounds and only travel with maximum security precautions in place. Prior to deployment or as part of any pre-operational decision-making, members are advised to conduct a thorough localised risk assessment to identify any potential threats to operations and staff safety.
