02/16/2019 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - National and local news outlets are reporting that around 11,000 Palestinians attended demonstrations along the Gaza border strip on Friday, 15 February. Multiple reports state that 20 Palestinians were injured by Israeli Defense Force (IDF) live fire in response to the demonstrators throwing rocks, debris and firebombs. One border police officer was reportedly lightly injured due to shrapnel from an explosive device that was thrown at him. There have been no reports of any fatalities having been suffered on either side. Friday's demonstration was the 47th in a row since the weekly protests began in March 2018.

Members in either the Gaza Strip or southern Israel are advised to minimise time spent close to the border due to the threat of exposure to cross-border attacks. Only operationally-critical travel to the border region should be conducted and those who do so should maintain an extremely high level of vigilance and should report any suspicious activity or items to security forces immediately. Monitor both local and international news for further developments that could cause further escalations in the cross-border violence.
