Multiple Arrests Made on Suspicion of Links to Militant Groups

02/15/2019 (Malaysia) - According to local media sources on Friday, 15 February, Malaysian authorities have arrested six people, including four foreigners, suspected of planning attacks and of being members of militant groups. Police report that the six were arrested in five separate raids between December and January in various locations across the country. The arrested are reportedly two Malaysians and four foreigners from Singapore, Bangladesh, the Philippines and a South Asian country. Further details are awaited.

Members in-country are advised to report any suspicious persons, items or activity. Members should monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any security operations in their particular area and heed any directives issued by police and local authorities.
