Reports of Casualties following Militant Attack in Diyala Province

02/14/2019 (Iraq) - According to local media sources, at least one person was killed and another severely injured after Islamic State (IS) militants attacked a Federal Police convoy in Diyala Province on Wednesday, 13 February. Reportedly IS militants ambushed the convoy on the Imam Wiis road near Khanaqin and Maqdaiya, before fleeing the scene. Further information is awaited.
Members are advised to expect a heightened security presence and possible security operations in the immediate term following the attack. Exercise an increased level of situational awareness and report any suspicious activity or items to security forces.
