02/14/2019 (Puerto Rico) - National and local news outlets are reporting that a protest outside the Federal Court of San Juan is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 14 February. The demonstration, which is due to begin at 1700hrs (1300 UTC), is being organised in protest of the international intervention that is currently underway in Venezuela against Nicolas Maduro's government. The event is expected to attract participation from religious organisations, trade unions, human rights and political groups, and is likely to cause significant disruption in the vicinity.
Members should avoid all demonstrations and large crowds as they carry a security risk. Travellers should monitor local media and news in case of any further updates on the situation and maintain strong situational awareness.
