Unidentified Gunmen Attack Radio Station in Monrovia

02/13/2019 (Liberia) - According to local media sources, unidentified gunmen attacked a popular radio station in Monrovia, Roots FM, on Sunday, 10 February, stealing vital broadcast equipment and forcing the station off the air for a couple of hours. The radio station is known for taking a critical stance on the government. Two weeks ago a similar attack on the station forced it off the air for several days. Local authorities have promised to investigate the latest attack. Further information is awaited.

Members in Monrovia should avoid protests or any other political gatherings in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and police operations. Members should monitor local media sources for further information.
