02/13/2019 (Kenya) - According to national media sources, the body of a female human rights activist, Caroline Mwatha, was found at the City Mortuary in Nairobi on Tuesday, 12 February. Caroline Mwatha, a founding member of the Dandora Community Justice Centre, had been reported missing since 6 February and was found dead at the mortuary booked under a different name. Two suspects, a doctor and owner of a clinic where Mwatha had sought medical services, are under arrest. Demonstrations are likely in the near-term over the incident.

Members in Nairobi should avoid the vicinity of any protests in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and heavy-handed police response during the ongoing series of protests. Members are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates on events and security measures in their particular area of operations.
