02/13/2019 (Nigeria) - National news outlets are predicting that two rival campaign rallies, which are due to take place on Wednesday, 13 February, are likely to cause significant disruption in and around Abuja. Supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party will gather from 0800hrs (0700 UTC) to hear President Muhammadu Buhari speak at the National Stadium. The opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) will also be staging a rally at the Old Parade Ground, just 6km (3.7miles) away from the APC gathering, where their candidate Atiku Abubakar will be attending. Members should minimise all non-essential movement in the area while the rallies are taking place.

Members are advised to avoid any demonstrations due to the security risk that they pose. Any large crowds should be avoided and strong situational awareness should be maintained at all times. Travellers are also encouraged to monitor local news and media for further information relating to the protests.
