02/13/2019 (Haiti) - The United States State Department announced in an advisory on Wednesday, 13 February, to reconsider travel due to recent crime and unrest throughout the country. The level 3 advisory is the second-highest alert the Department issues and urges against non-essential travel in the country. The recent unrest and demonstrations are the latest to call for President Jovenel Moise to resign over Haitian officials' alleged misuse of funds from the regional oil alliance Petrocaribe.

Members operating in Haiti are advised to avoid the vicinity of protests and large-scale gatherings to mitigate against incidental violence and heavy-handed police crowd dispersal measures. Members are further advised to closely monitor local media sources for any further instructions from authorities and news regarding unrest in their area.
