02/12/2019 (United States) - Media sources reported on Tuesday, 12 February, that over 300 flights have been cancelled and a further 240 have been delayed at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) due to heavy snow. The Puget Sound, a sound along the north western coast of the US state of Washington, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean, is experiencing heavy snowfall, impacting areas including Issaquah, Bellevue, Kirkland, Mercer Island and Seattle. Radar indicated snow from eastern Pierce and King Counties stretching all the way to the Canadian border. Schools have also been closed across Seattle and Tacoma. Around three to four inches (7-8cm) of snow have been reported in the Pacific Northwest.

Members travelling to / from SEA should confirm their flights ahead of departure in order to clarify the status of their journeys. Members are further advised to closely monitor weather-related developments through local sources and review travel plans accordingly.
