Report of Fatalities Following Attack on Security Forces in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province

02/12/2019 (Pakistan) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 12 February, at least two police officers have been killed and several more injured in an attack in the city of Dera Ismail Khan. The police were attacked by unidentified gunmen during one of their routine patrols in their vehicle. Operations by the security forces are ongoing in the area. Those injured have been hospitalised. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Members in Dera Ismail Khan are advised to monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any security operations in their area. Due to the high threat of terrorism, members are recommended to maintain a high level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious items or activity to security forces. Travellers should minimise non-essential travel in areas with high levels of sectarian violence.
