Several Injuries Following Gas Explosion in Gaziantep

02/12/2019 (Turkey) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 12 February, four people were injured following an explosion of built up natural gas in the ¿ahinbey municipality of the city of Gaziantep. The gas exploded underground lifting over a dozen manhole covers and causing extensive damage to nearby buildings. One street which was particularly affected is ¿ehit Adem Yavuz ¿lkokulu where a bus was damaged by a manhole cover propelled by the blast. Those injured have been hospitalised. Emergency services are conducting operations in the area.

Those in Gaziantep should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to ongoing operations and the risk of further explosions. Members should monitor local media sources for further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
