10/22/2018 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - According to a statement from the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), a Palestinian was shot dead after he tried to stab a soldier in the West Bank city of Hebron on Monday, 22 October. The incident took place near the Cave of the Patriarchs, also known as the Sanctuary of Abraham. The soldier was reportedly lightly wounded in the stabbing attack before he and other troops responded with gunfire, killing the assailant.

Members in Hebron should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to the possibility of further violence and ongoing police and emergency services operations. Members should monitor local media sources for further information. Due to the risk of low-level militant attacks, including stabbing and shooting attacks directed at both security forces, and security forces response, members in the region are advised to maintain a heightened level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious activity to security forces.
