10/20/2018 (Brazil) - Local media sources report on Friday, 19 October, that inclement weather has triggered flash floods in the city of Belo Horizonte and its wider metropolitan area, Minas Gerais State. Torrential rainfalls disrupted road traffic and damaged electric infrastructures that resulted in localised power outages. Additionally, local authorities issued alerts as the rivers Leitao, Pinto and Arrudas are likely to overflow.

Travellers are advised to remain abreast of weather-related developments and review contingency measures to minimise any impact on business continuity. Drivers should exercise a heightened degree of caution in flood-affected areas due to likely hazardous conditions caused by flooding, landslides and debris.
