10/19/2018 (Malaysia) - A group of about 1,000 supporters of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) have gathered outside the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex on the morning of Friday, 19 October. They are gathered outside the court complex to show solidarity for the party president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is facing charges of corruption. Imagery from the scene indicates that the demonstration has remained peaceful.
Members in Kuala Lumpur are advised to minimise the time spent in the vicinity of demonstrations in order to mitigate the risks of incidental crowd violence, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed crowd dispersal methods. Heed any directive issued by the security services in the area and keep apprised of related developments by monitoring local media sources reporting on the incident.
