Multiple Fatalities and At least a Dozen Missing following Landslide in Paya Terubong, Penang

10/19/2018 (Malaysia) - According to emerging media reports on Friday, 19 October, at least three people have been confirmed dead and a further 12 are believed to be missing following a landslide on a construction site in Paya Terubong. The landslide occurred around 1400Hrs (0600 UTC), on the site of a new road being built. Four containers that were being used to house the workers at the site have been buried. Emergency teams are in attendance and search and rescue operations are underway.
Members in Penang should expect travel disruption during the aforementioned period and should factor delays into their itinerary.
