10/18/2018 (Italy) - The Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Thursday, 18 October, has issued a travel advisory warning due to an intense line of storms currently impacting Sardinia and Sicily. The storms have developed along a stalled frontal boundary extending from northeast Tunisia towards Sardinia, resulting in torrential rainfall. Flash floods are extremely likely to develop in these areas. All schools and public offices are currently closed due to the impact of the weather system.
Members in the affected areas are advised to monitor local media sources for further weather and flood-related updates and to heed any directives issued by local authorities. Drivers should exercise a heightened degree of caution in affected areas due to hazardous conditions caused by flooding and debris.
