10/18/2018 (South Africa) - According to social media sources on Thursday, 18 October, bus drivers, as well as firefighters, are participating in demonstrations outside the Cape Town Civic Centre. Reports indicate that the protests are being held over a perceived lack of pay. Some of the protesters are starting to leave the area. Previously police have deployed flash-bang grenades in order to disperse the protesters.

Those in Cape Town should avoid the vicinity of the protests in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and police operations. Members should monitor local media sources for further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
