10/17/2018 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - According to unconfirmed social media reports early on Wednesday, 17 October, Israeli Defence Force (IDF) planes are striking positions within the eastern and southern Gaza Strip. The strikes come after a rocket launched from within Gaza hit a home in the city of Be'er Sheva, causing major damage but no significant injuries. It is currently unclear whether the strikes have caused casualties in Gaza.
Members in Israel and the Palestinian Territories are advised to remain extremely vigilant amid the heightened tensions and ongoing unrest, immediately reporting any suspicious activity to authorities. Members in southern Israel are advised to minimise time spent near the border due to the threat of exposure to cross-border attacks. Members should seek to vacate the area immediately if a planned or spontaneous protest occurs in their area of operations.
