10/17/2018 (Mexico) - According to local media sources, one person was killed and two more were injured following a shooting in the Chinameca neighbourhood of Acapulco, Guerrero State, on Tuesday, 16 October. The motive for the attack is still unknown. The incident is the latest in a series of armed incidents in the city, which has been plagued by violent crime and is experiencing record murder rates in 2018, due to gang-related criminal activity.
Members in Acapulco state should remain apprised of the latest security-related developments through local media, minimise non-essential travel in areas associated with high crime rates, and heed any directives issued by local authorities.
