10/17/2018 (India) - According to local media sources on Wednesday, 17 October, security has been significantly increased outside the Sabarimala Temple located in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala State. The increase in security follows the overturning of a 1991 ruling by the Kerala High Court that forbids women over the age of 10 and below the age of 50 from entering the temple. Reports indicate that protesters unhappy with the overturning of the ban have been stopping women from entering the temple.

Those in Kerala should avoid large crowds or political gatherings in order to lessen the chance of being affected by incidental violence and petty crime. Members should monitor local media sources for further information.
