10/17/2018 (United Kingdom) - According to multiple media sources, several rail services have been cancelled at London Paddington Station on Wednesday, 17 October, as a result of damage to overhead electric cables during the night of Tuesday, 16 October. The cancellations are set to continue until 1200 hrs (1100 UTC), on Wednesday, 17 October, but this is likely to be extended. Great Western Railways (GWR) services between Paddington and Slough, and between Paddington and Heathrow have been cancelled. A replacement bus service for this route has been offered, although commuters are complaining of a lack of services and communication. Other rail companies have warned of disruption due to passengers using their services in London as an alternative.

Members using London Paddington Station rail services should monitor local news and the National Rail website for travel disruption updates and potential alternative routes. Any inbound or outbound London journey is likely to have delays and extra commuters, so it is advised to plan any journey in advance where possible.
