10/17/2018 (Ukraine) - According to local media sources on Wednesday, 17 October, two demonstrations are ongoing outside the city administration building in Kharkiv. One group of protesters are veterans of the ongoing conflict in the east with pro-Russian separatists, which is also referred to as the Anti-Terror Operation or ATO. The ATO veterans have demanded that land is given to them in Kharkiv in reward for their service in the conflict. Additionally, diabetics and other people reliant on insulin are also holding a demonstration outside the same building, demanding a subsidy on prescriptions. As many as 200 people have gathered at the location, and thus far the action is peaceful.

Those in Kharkiv should avoid the vicinity of the demonstration in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and police operations. Members should monitor local media sources for further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
