10/17/2018 (France) - Emerging social media sources on Wednesday, 17 October, state that an estimated 3,000 people have gathered in the vicinity of the new Primark store located in the historic Au Capitole building in central Toulouse. The Rue de Remusat road is currently closed to traffic and will remain so throughout the day. Customers have reportedly been queueing in front of the store since the early hours of the morning. The mayor of Toulouse officially opened the store at 1000hrs (0800 UTC).
Travellers should be aware of an increased security presence in the direct vicinity of any ongoing protests and heed any directives issued by authorities. Monitor local media sources for further updates on the demonstrations and any associated travel disruption.
