10/17/2018 (Comoros) - The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) issued a travel advisory warning for Anjouan on Wednesday, 17 October, due to the ongoing unrest in the country. Three people were killed on Tuesday in clashes between protesters and police, and further unrest is possible in the near-term. The violent social unrest has also disrupted access to Ouani Airport (AJN). The government-imposed curfew remains in place between 2000-0600hrs (1700-0300 UTC).

Members in the affected areas should monitor local media for situational updates and avoid the vicinity of any confrontation or protest, due to the potential for violent clashes and other associated risks. Travellers should review, and amend accordingly, any journeys to Anjouan in advance to minimise disruption. Heed any directives given by the authorities.
