10/16/2018 (France) - On Tuesday, 16 October, the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition (MEST) extended the Red Flood alert for the Lowlands of Aude Department and issued an Orange Flood alert for the Central Valley of Aude Department. Areas between Carcassone, Narbonne and Beziers are still affected by high water levels triggered by the remnants of hurricane Leslie. Meteo France declared that for those in the area "should exercise extreme caution". As of 16 October, authorities reported that at least 13 people have died and another is still missing. All schools and Universities are closed and several roads are still cut off across the department.

Members in affected areas are advised to monitor local media sources for further weather and flood-related updates and heed any directives issued by local authorities. Drivers should exercise a heightened degree of caution in flood-affected areas due to likely hazardous conditions caused by flooding and debris.
