06/23/2018 (Chile) - On Friday, 22 June, dozens of political activists are staging a protest in front of the US Embassy in Santiago. Local reports indicate that an increased security presence has been deployed to Las Condes commune, where the embassy is located. The political gathering comes in response to recent reports regarding the forced separation of migrant families at the border between the United States and Mexico. Similar protests have taken place in major cities globally including Mexico City or Montreal.
Members in Santiago are advised to remain clear of any demonstration or political gathering in order to avoid unruly crowd behaviour, opportunistic crime, and police crowd control operations.
