06/23/2018 (Germany) - The right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party will hold a convention in the Bavarian city of Augsburg on Saturday, 30 June and Sunday, 1 July. The conference is likely to be the scene of protests, with posts on social media accounts calling for riots against the party. In response, the city's police force is preparing for its largest-ever policing operation to protect the 1000 attendees of the conference. Measures such as roadblocks are planned and significant travel disruption should be expected.

Members are advised to avoid the vicinity of any protest or any other large political gathering in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. Members should monitor local media sources for any further information on protests and associated travel disruption; heed any directives issued by the authorities.
