Several Fatalities Reported after Madagascar Trans Air Flight Crashes near Antananarivo, Central Highlands Region

06/22/2018 (Madagascar) - According to media reports, at least five people were killed after a twin-engine plane from Madagascar Trans Air (MTA) crashed at Ampangabe Ambohitrimanjaka, near Antananarivo, Central Highlands Region on Monday, 18 June. The plane was carrying three student pilots, as well as their instructor, during a training flight. Initial assessments suggest the crash was due to a mechanical failure, but a full investigation has been launched by the Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau team to determine the exact causes of the incident.
