06/22/2018 (Central African Republic) - At least 20 people have been killed following violent clashes in N'dele, Bamingui-Bangoran Prefecture on Wednesday, 20 June. Clashes occurred between the Popular Front for the Renaissance of Central Africa (FPRC) and Central African Patriotic Movement (MPC) militia following reports of cattle rustling. The situation has since deescalated and UN mission in Central Africa (MINUSCA) troops have been deployed to patrol the area and maintain calm. Several civilians and combatants were killed.

Following the recent violence, members in the CAR are advised to exercise an extremely high level of caution and avoid non-essential travel to N'dele in the medium term. CAR remains a high-risk security environment and all non-essential travel to the country should be avoided. Operationally-critical deployments should only be conducted following a thorough localised risk assessment and in conjunction with a vetted security provider.
