Fire Reported and Extinguished in Apartment Complex in Rostov-On-Don

06/20/2018 (Russia) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 19 June, a large fire has been reported at an apartment complex on Ulitsa 1-Ya Liniya, 60 in Rostov-On-Don. Local authorities stated that no fatalities nor injuries have occurred, as all the tenants were promptly evacuated. According to local residents, the fire likely started by accident when a child was left alone at home and began playing with matches. Firefighters have extinguished the fire. Disruption in the area is likely to continue until the end of emergency operations. Investigations are ongoing.

Clients in Yaroslavl are advised to avoid the vicinity of the fire due to the ongoing containment and rescue operations. Residents nearby should keep windows closed and avoid inhaling smoke and fumes from the fire.
