06/20/2018 (Israel) - According to emerging reports early on Wednesday, 20 June, over 30 rockets and mortar shells have been fired from the Gaza Strip into neighbouring southern areas of the country. Missile defence systems have reportedly been activated, but a number of rockets and shells are believed to have reached Israeli territory; although no damage or injuries have been reported. In response, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) launched retaliatory strikes in southern areas of the Gaza Strip. Reports suggest that rocket launches are continuing.

Members in southern Israel are advised to minimise time spent close to the border due to the threat of exposure to cross-border attacks. Only operationally-critical travel to the border region should be conducted and those who do so should maintain an extremely high level of vigilance and should report any suspicious activity or items to security forces immediately. Monitor both local and international news outlets for developments that could cause further escalations in the cross-border violence.
