Man Carrying Explosive Belt Arrested in Longeau, Messancy

06/20/2018 (Belgium) - According to emerging social media reports on Wednesday, 20 June, a large area in the village of Longeau, Messancy, has been evacuated following the arrest of a man who is thought to have been carrying a belt of explosives. The suspect allegedly assaulted a woman to whom he was acquainted before he was captured on Schmit Street. A police explosives team are currently attending the scene.

Members in Liege are advised to remain clear of the affected area and anticipate an armed police presence. Closely monitor local media sources for further updates in order to remain apprised of any developments.
