06/18/2018 (South Africa) - According to emerging reports from national media sources, a protest has erupted on the R59 in Meyerton, on Monday, 18 June. The road between Meyer and Johan le Roux are closed in both directions due to the unrest. Protesters are thought to be casting stones at cars and attempted to loot a truck for beer. The police are warning motorists to avoid the area.

Members in the area should avoid the vicinity of any protests to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. Motorists should anticipate traffic disruption along the R59 and utilise alternative routes where possible. Members should continue to monitor local media for further updates on the situation.
