Those in Lanao del Sur province are advised to avoid non-essential travel in the Marawi area in the immediate to medium term until the security situation has stabilised. Travellers should monitor local media sources for further updates on security operations in the area and heed any directives issued by security forces and local authorities. Those with operations in the region area are advised to review security and contingency measures in light of the militant threat to ensure they remain commensurate with the evolving local threat environment.
