Several Wounded in Airstrike Against Al-Shabaab Targets in Gedo Region

06/18/2018 (Somalia) - According to local media reports on Monday, 18 June, aircraft from the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) have carried out an airstrike in the Gedo region targeting an Al-Shabaab hideout. Sources state that the fighter aircraft attacked targets in the village of El-Adde near to Garbaharey town, wounding at least three civilians. The Kenyan military has been targeting the area since Al-Shabaab attacked KDF forces in the area in January 2016, killing dozens of soldiers. The full extent of casualties from the airstrike is not yet known.
