06/17/2018 (Australia) - Residents have had to be evacuated in Sydney's inner west after a blaze started at a factory on Australia Street on Sunday, 17 June. The fire started around 0930hrs (2330 UTC, 16 June) and 25 fire-fighters and multiple fire trucks were deployed to tackle the flames. Residents from surrounding properties were evacuated by police, largely due to fears that smoke coming from the factory could contain asbestos. Roads including Salisbury Road and Australia Street were blocked off by emergency responders.

Members in Sydney are advised to avoid the aforementioned areas until responders have confirmed its safety due to the threat of consuming toxic fumes. Monitor local media for the latest updates on the fire and adhere to any directives issued by local authorities, including evacuation orders.
