06/17/2018 (India) - According to reports from local news sources on Sunday, 17 June, the Delhi Metro will keep five Metro stations closed as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is due to stage a march to the residence of the prime minister, Narendra Modi. The police advised the closures, which have affected the Lok Kalyan Marg, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk and Janpath stations. Reports say that the interchange service will still be available from the Central Secretariat station.
Travellers planning to transit through metro stations are advised to reassess their travel plans and allow extra time for disruption. Travellers are also advised to avoid the area of the Prime Ministers residence due to the risk of opportunistic crime, incidental violence, and heavy-handed crowd control measures associated with large gatherings.
