Two Injured in Knife Attack at Supermarket in Seyne-sur-Mer, Terror Motive not Ruled Out

06/17/2018 (France) - According to local media reports on Sunday, 17 June, at least two people have been wounded following a knife attack at a supermarket in the town of Seyne-sur-Mer in the Var department. Sources state that a woman armed with a knife attacked a cashier and another person whilst shouting "Allah Akbar". Police arrived at the scene and arrested the attacker. Authorities are carrying out a search of the home of the attacker, and have not ruled out a terror motive for the attack. The two injured were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Clients in Seyne-sur-Mer are advised to maintain a high state of vigilance due to the elevated terror threat. The observation of any suspicious activity or discovery of any suspicious object should be immediately reported to the authorities.
