05/23/2018 (Israel) - Israel's Public Transportation Drivers' Organisation has reportedly announced plans to hold a motorcade protest on Wednesday, 23 May. Members of the union are expected to join a convoy of buses from Rosh HaAyin to Tel Aviv, departing from Park Afek at 1030hrs (0730 UTC). The protest is being held to demand safer working conditions for public transport workers following a recent attack on a bus driver. The convoy will travel via the 5A bus route on which the driver was attacked.
Members travelling via the aforementioned area during the protest are advised to anticipate significant delays and consider planning an alternative route in order to ensure business continuity. Travellers are advised to avoid the vicinity of all protests and demonstrations in Israel in order to limit exposure to unruly crowd behaviour, opportunistic crime, and police crowd control measures. Monitor local media reports for further updates.
