Muscat (Oman), Cyclone Developing in Arabian Sea

05/22/2018 (Oman) - Location: Southern Oman; possible heavy rains country-wide.



Event: There is a cyclone system developing in the Arabian Sea. The storm is currently expected to make landfall in southern Oman in the late evening hours of May 25 or early morning May 26. Expect heavy rains and strong winds with possible flooding, mudslides, power outages and difficult travel conditions in southern Oman. Expect increased rainfall levels and winds throughout the country.



Actions to Take:

Avoid travel to affected areas until the storm has dissipated.
Monitor the local news for updates.
Seek secure shelter.
