05/22/2018 (Argentina) - An Argentinian transport workers' union, the Association of Subway and Premetro Workers, has announced plans for Buenos Aires underground staff to take part in a strike on Tuesday, 22 May. The rush hour strike will affect metro lines E and H, as well as the Premetro, in the city from 0530hrs (0830 UTC) to 1200hrs (1500 UTC). The second consecutive week of industrial action is being held amid an ongoing conflict between Buenos Aires' subway company (Metrovias) and its employees. Associated protests may also be held in the city centre.

Those in Buenos Aires should anticipate a surge in demand for alternative means of transport during the strike, leading to significant disruption to overland travel throughout the city. Members are advised to revise journey plans accordingly in order to minimise the impact on business continuity. Travellers in Argentina are advised to avoid any political protests or demonstrations due to the risk of exposure to incidental violence, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed police response.
