05/21/2018 (Saudi Arabia) - According to local media sources on Monday, 21 May, a ballistic missile has been intercepted and destroyed by Saudi air defences near the southern city of Jizan, Jizan province. According to an earlier statement via the Al-Masariah media outlet run by Yemen's Houthi rebels, the group fired a missile aiming for Jizan Regional Airport (GIZ). The incident comes amid a series of cross-border missile attack targeting the southern provinces of Jizan, Asir and Najran, the majority of which have been intercepted by Saudi forces.

Members should exercise an increased level of situational awareness and heed any directives issued by local authorities and security forces. Due to the ongoing risk of conflict spill-over, members in regions bordering Yemen, particularly the Jizan, Asir and Najran regions, should continue to exercise a high degree of caution and coordinate all movement near the border with security forces and local authorities.
