Public Sector Unions to Stage Rallies in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, Loire-Atlantique Department, on 22 May

05/21/2018 (France) - A coalition of public sector unions, including CFE-CGC, CFTC and CGT, are planning to stage demonstrations against proposed government reforms in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, Loire-Atlantique Department, on Tuesday, 22 May. In the regional capital Nantes, a protest will be held in front of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire at 1000hrs (0800 UTC), impacting bus and tram services in the city from 0930hrs to 1430hrs (0730-1230 UTC). A separate demonstration in Saint-Nazaire will commence at 1000hrs (0800 UTC) at Place de l'Amerique Latine.

Members in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire are advised to avoid the vicinity of the protest sites on the aforementioned date. Travellers should remain clear of any type of political gathering or protests in order to minimise the risk of opportunistic crime, unruly crowd behaviour and heavy-handed police response.
