05/20/2018 (Mexico) - Local media reported on Saturday, 19 May, that three people were killed as a result of a shootout which took place at Fischer's restaurant located in Paeso Altozano shopping centre in Morelia, Michoacan State. It has been indicated that four armed men dressed in tactical outfits opened fire at the customers resulting in three fatalities and one injury. The victims were identified as being members of the same family. The assailants managed to escape in a Jeep Cherokee car.
Those in Morelia are advised to exercise an increased level of situational awareness and remain apprised of the latest security-related developments through local media, minimise non-essential travel in areas associated with high crime rates and heed any directives issued by local authorities.
