05/20/2018 (United States) - On Sunday, 20 May, there is an ongoing search operation to locate and apprehend three inmates who managed to escape the Orangeburg County Detention Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The Orangeburg County Sheriff has reported the escaped happened on Saturday, 19 May, at approximately 2200hrs (0200 UTC, 20 May). The inmates are considered by police as dangerous.
Members in Orangeburg County are advised to exercise a heightened sense of caution until the end of the incident, and report any type of suspicious activity to the security forces. Travellers should monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any security operations in their particular area and heed any directives issued by police and local authorities.
