05/19/2018 (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - On Sunday, 20 May, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be speaking at a convention of the European Turkish Democrats at Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic Hall in Sarajevo. Erdogan is leading the rally as part of his overseas campaigning for the 4 June Turkish general elections. The event is expected to last until after Erdogan breaks fast for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan at around 2010hrs (1810 UTC). There is likely to be a heightened security presence in the vicinity of the venue as well as localised road diversions.

Members in Sarajevo should anticipate potential localised travel disruption and related delays due to increased security measures in the lead-up to and during the summit. Clients are advised to remain clear of any protests, whether planned or spontaneous, directed at the event, and should heed all directives by security forces.
